Sundays at Witney Community Church

We love to meet as a church family to share time together with God and one another. Our services are fairly informal and anyone is welcome so do please feel free to come along.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith Hebrews 12:2a

Where & When

Most Sunday mornings we meet at The King's School in Witney (please see our calendar for any changes). We gather at 10:15am with fresh coffee and a time to catch up with each other. At about 10:30 the service will begin and runs until around 12:15.

What to expect

Our services include times of worshipping God through singing, prayer, sharing stories and teaching from the Bible. All song words are shown on a big screen and you are welcome to join in or not, as you feel comfortable. Once a month or so, we also share communion together as an opportunity to remember again what Jesus has done for us (non-alcoholic wine and gluten-free bread are both available).

What about children?

Children are really welcome at Witney Community Church, they are free to stay in with you for the whole service, or to take advantage of the kids work provided. There is provision for all ages from early-years to secondary school, all run by DBS checked volunteers.

Dresscode & Offerings

God cares far more about our heart than our clothes, so come in something that feels comfortable, most people are pretty casually dressed. Because our giving is an act of worship (we all spend money on the things we love), we provide opportunity for our church family to give to the work of the church and beyond. But God cares more about our heart than our wallet, so please do feel free to just come along and receive.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together... but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:24–25

Life Groups

Our weekly Sunday gathering is important but not sufficient for a life of discipleship. Life Groups enable us to connect with each other and Jesus on a very practical level.

What is a Life Group?

During the week we meet together in small groups. This gives us space to explore the reality of walking with Jesus in our daily lives. The small groups are also times for us to pray together, eat together and make friends. The Bible talks about Christians ‘sharing life’ together so our small groups are places where we can get to know each other and encourage one another. They are also a place for support – both practically and spiritually.

When and Where?

We have groups meeting in and around Witney most days during the week. Most groups meet in the evening (around 7.45pm) but there are also a few that meet during the day.

How do I join?

For more information, or to try out or join a life group, please speak to one of our welcome team, or email us at witney@occ.org.uk
